PTA Fundraising Ideas

Ideas: Up and down the country, PTAs are trying new ideas to raise funds for schools – some work and some don’t. Take the guesswork (and risk!) out of running an event by learning from other PTA’s experiences.

Through PTA Local you will be able to search thousands of ideas and see how other PTAs managed the event, what it cost, how easy it was to run, where they sourced the materials or supplier (including reviews on each supplier - (see Local Suppliers) and how much money was raised.

PTAs can also provide other hints and tips of how they would make the event even better next time - we have all thought about things on hindsight! This will help you avoid the pitfalls, make running the event much easier and hopefully raise more money!

PTA Panel: Every week there are new fundraising ideas being presented to PTAs around theUK - but which ones will work for you? PTA Local will work with new and existingsuppliers andpresent each new idea to a panel of PTAs. The PTAs will run the event and review the supplier, the idea, the effort required, the fundraising potential and then we will publish the findings for all PTAs.

If the idea, the supplier and event gets the ‘thumbs up’ we will then negotiate a national deal for all PTAs to ensure you get the best possible price. We will choose new PTAs for each PTA Panel and ensure a good cross-section for each review.

Resources: Many PTAs own one or more useful items, everything from Tea Urns to Bouncy Castles and Marquees. Through PTA Local you will be able to highlight any equipment you have to hire/loan and find other equipment from other local PTAs. If you can’t find what you need, you can simply send a request to all Local PTAs or search via the Local & National Suppliers and see reviews on each supplier and their products.

To make life even easier, we will also link any relevant items to factsheets and advice from the NCPTA e.g. if you are hiring out your marquee or hiring a bouncy castle we will find all the legal information for you and provide links to the relevant page on the NCPTA website www.ncpta.org.uk.
